You can't WIN without the WORK

WINNERS put in WORK.

Period. Bottom Line. Winners work.

Name a winner that you know that did NOT put in the work to get where they are. Lottery winners don't count!

And when I say winners, winners are, and can be anyone who consistently puts in the work to reach whatever goals they are pursuing. Of course you won't always win, but when you consistently put in work, you will win more than you lose. The more you win the more it reinforces your work ethic, so when you do lose it doesn't cripple you. Instead, you take your loss, learn from it, and keep on working.

No matter what you are working towards, no matter who you are, or where you came from, you cannot win without doing the WORK. Want good grades in school, you have to study. Want to climb the ladder at work, you gotta give more than just the minimum. Want to play sports at the next level, you have to put in extra work on your own.

True story, when my kid was 9 he wanted to hit a home run in a game so bad. The first home run is everything to a baseball player! So I said ok, let's get you a home run. We went to our neighborhood baseball fields and we hit, and we hit, and we hit. He practiced with his team two days a week so we would go to the baseball fields one or two other days and put in extra work. Some days he would do what 9 year olds do and get frustrated. When he did I would tell him "you can't win without the work, you CANNOT skip the work" About a month later he hit his first home run in a game.

When I started my Personal Assistant business, I started it with a free website and paper business cards. I think I had FB and IG page but I feel that was before ads where a big thing on social media. I didn't much money to spend on advertising so I took my paper cards and hit the pavement. I would literally put my cards on every car door window I could in every parking lot who wouldn't run me away. Every time I spoke to someone I would hand them a business card. I would go into businesses one by one and ask to leave my cards for their employees and customers. I would leave a flyer on every bulletin board I passed in local coffee shops. I walked through entire neighborhoods (in Texas heat) placing flyers on doors.

9 years later I still have the business and have been able to work with some amazing people doing some the work I love. You CAN'T win without the WORK.

It's one thing for someone to tell you these things, but it's another thing to actually put in the work, and see it pay off for yourself. When you see the process unfold, it feels good. It feels good to win; and eventually it all becomes a habit.

Vince Lombardi said it best "winning is habit." But you know what the rest of the quote says...it says "unfortunately so is losing." Which habit do you want to create?

You wanna to be a winner, you have to put in the Work.
