There’s a reason the word YOUR is highlighted.
Because it's whatever success looks like to YOU. So many people see reaching "success" as having it all, the money, fancy cars, the big house etc. But in reality success is whatever you want it to be. For some people that may mean having a steady job, a nice house, and a family. For others that may mean climbing the corporate ladder and reaching the top. And yes, for some their idea of success is all the riches, and that’s perfectly ok too. But what's not ok is only seeing one version of success as the standard and then deciding that it's to far out of your reach, so you give up before you even start.
The best part of figuring out what your version of success is, is that it's YOURS.
No one can take it away and no one can change it but you. Success looks different to everyone, and no one's idea or level of success is more, or less important than the other.
So what Success look like to you?
For me, when I was in my teens, success to me looked like making my own money, supporting myself, and not having to live at home. I also knew I always wanted kids. I I grew up watching my sister and little cousins so kids was always my thing (even though my mom says I didn't like my sister back then lol). I even had it planned out down to wanting to have a boy first. When I was in my early twenties, that version of successful became reality, (even the boy first part :)). But after having kids I wanted to provide a better life for them. I grew up in a family of Entrepreneurs so my new version of success looked like me owning my own business to become more financially stable and have more freedom spend time with my family. When that version of success became reality, I wanted to find a way to share motivation and inspiration to others to help them reach THEIR version of success. LiveDriven is becoming that reality.
When you have some sort of idea of what your version of success looks like, then that’s when you can actually start putting a plan together on how to get there. When you take a trip you don’t just start driving with no clue where you’re going, right? No, you have some sort of idea of where your destination is and then map out how to get there. Success works the same way. If you don’t know what you’re working towards, why, or what you have to do to get there, then of course any level of success beyond where you’re at now is going to look impossible to get to.
Success is nothing more than having goals and using them as stepping stones to get where you are going. While my path to success sounded like I clicked my heels like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and made everything fall in to place, that definitely wasn't it. Things fell alright. I fell, and I failed, many times. So yes you'll stumble, fall, and fail, and likely get lost a long the way. But when you do, just look back at your map and get back on the path to where you were headed. Find the closest stepping stone and get going again.
